BOARD OF HEALTH
JANUARY 15, 2008
The regular scheduled Board of
Health meeting of the Mayor and Committee of the
Township of Oxford was held on January 15, 2008 in
the Township Municipal Building, 11 Green Street,
Oxford, New Jersey.
Mrs.
Riley who announced that the meeting had been
properly advertised in compliance with the OPMA of
1975, called the meeting to order at 9:35 PM.
In attendance were Bonnie
Riley, Angelo Accetturo, William Bray and Sheila L.
Oberly.
The minutes of December 11,
2007 meeting was approved as submitted on motion by
Mr. Accetturo and seconded by Mrs. Riley.
Mr. Accetturo read the monthly
Warren County Board of Health Reports of December
14, 2007 and January 11 2008.
Mr. Accetturo opened the
meeting to the public.
There being no public comments, the public
comment period was closed.
Mr. Bray asked what could be
done in regard to the screwdriver factory (Oxtech)
in terms with the health department compelling the
clean up since it is obvious Mr. Kellner is not
working with the Township. Mr. Bray stated that even
though there is a fence around it, it is still
considered a health hazardous. Mr. Bray said that
the best thing the Township should do now is to keep
pressure on Mr. Kellner to get the site cleaned up
and then get a conscientious of the public of a
specially plan for the site.
He said he talked to Mr. Kellner and he told
him cleanup would be starting within the next two to
three weeks. Mr. Bray said he wants to see that site
cleaned up immediately.
Mr. Accetturo said he hopes
that Mr. Kellner will clean this up but the Township
has not had any help from the state, Board of
Health, or DEP and has exhausted all the avenues to
get this cleanup done.
On motion by Mr. Accetturo and
seconded by Mrs. Riley, the Board of Health meeting
was adjourned at 10:00 PM.
