BUDGET MEETING
MARCH 3, 2010
A budget meeting of the Mayor and Committee of the
Township of Oxford was held on March 3, 2010 in the
Township Municipal Building, 11 Green Street,
Oxford, New Jersey.
Mayor Donald Niece announced that the meeting had
been properly advertised in compliance with the OPMA
of 1975 and called the meeting to order at 5:30 PM.
In attendance were Donald Niece, Bonnie Riley,
William Bray, William Colantano, Dawn Stanchina and
Sheila L. Oberly.
Mr. Bray discussed with the Committee the
Preliminary Equalization Table for Warren County. He
stated that on the table, Oxford’s real property
ratio of aggregate assessed to aggregate true value
is 88%. He said that Oxford should be showing a 100%
ratio since Oxford just did a reassessment of the
township. Oxford Township is paying Warren County,
approximately $200,000.00 more in county tax.
On March 11, 2010 at 7:00 PM in at the County Board
of Taxation, in the Cummins Building, Belvidere,
N.J., scheduled is a hearing that Mr. Bray and Rich
Motyka, Tax Assessor will attend to discuss the
ratios and valuation assessed to the Township.
Mr. Colantano explained that this year’s surplus is
$140,000.00 more than in 2009.
The Committee, Mr. Colantano and Ms. Stanchina,
reviewed the remainder of the line items on the 2010
budget worksheet.
Mr. Bray and Ms. Stanchina had a heated discussion
on the deferred pension plan payment made in 2009.
A budget meeting will be held at 4:00 PM on April 7,
2010, before the regularly scheduled, Township
Committee meeting at 7:00 PM, which will be held in
the Oxford Township Municipal Building.
On motion by Mr. Niece, seconded by Mr. Bray and
passed unanimously on roll call
vote to adjourn the budget meeting at 7:00 PM.
