PUBLIC COMMENT:
Mr. and Mrs. Astle stated
that they just moved to Upper Denmark Road and
the day they moved in, found out that their well
was contaminated.
Mrs. Riley said
that she had just talked to NJDEP officials and
their suggestion is to install a POET system
into your house.
In order to receive
this system, you must obtain an application from
NJDEP for Spill Fund money, fill out the form
and submit it to DEP.
Apply for the Spill
Fund money, contact vendors that DEP gives you,
and after the vendor puts in the system, they
bill the state directly.
DEP will also pay
for the maintenance, filters and certified
repairman to check on the system every three to
six months with no cost to the homeowner.
Mr. Bray stated that the all the residents on
Upper Denmark Road, signed a letter which
several copies were sent to the Governor, DEP
Commissioner and the all the state delegates,
indicating that they are all in agreement and
want a connection to public water.
He also stated he received
an estimate from a large plumbing firm and to
cap each well on the street would be
approximately $1,300 for each house.
If NJDEP put in a
water line, the Township might be required to
install fire hydrants, which would not be
inexpensive.
Mr. Bray compiled a letter
to be sent to homeowners that have wells
instructing them where and when the water
sampling will start.
A copy will be
given to Mr. Lavery for his review before the
letter is mailed.

received for this property.
Mr. Accetturo
stated that the Township receives a small
payment from the state for all state property:
“in lieu of taxes” but it is very minimal
amount.
The Committee received a
letter from Northface Property asking the
Township to contact anyone at the state
endorsing the purchase of Block 2, Lots 12, 14
&18.03-Jonestown and Furnace Lake Roads by Green
Acres.
Mrs. Riley will
write a letter to Northface starting that it
would not be in the best interest of the
Township to show partiality in this instance.
Mr. Bray reviewed the bills.
Mr. Bray stated that the
Police Department has requested hiring another
crossing guard to replace Cindy Rochman.
The salary
ordinance for crossing guard is $7.00 - $10.00.
