APRIL 10, 2007
A special meeting of the Mayor and Township
Committee of the Township of Oxford was held on
March 19, 2007 in the Oxford Township Municipal
Building, 11 Green Street, Oxford, New Jersey to
discuss the 2007 budget.
In attendance were Angelo Accetturo, Alex Lazorisak,
Bonnie Riley, William Colantano and Sheila L. Oberly.
Mr. Lazorisak called the meeting to order at 5:10 PM
and announced that the meeting had been properly
advertised in compliance with the OPMA of 1975.
Mr. Colantano distributed to the Committee Oxford
Township’s Surplus Analysis, Tax Rate and Assessed
Values from 1994 to 2007, and 2007 Budget Workshop
paperwork.
The Committee reviewed the paperwork distributed and
Mr. Colantano stated that $936,000 was used from
surplus to balance the budget. He said for every
$24,000 spent in the budget equals one cent on the
tax rate.
The Committee discussed putting aside three cents
from taxes into a Revitalization Planning Fund to
improve any properties that are in need of cleanup
or repairs.
The Committee agreed that the tax rate would
increase twenty cents.
Mrs. Riley will call Bill Gleda, Finelli Consulting
to discuss the sewer assessment fees due to the
Township. She will report to the Committee at the
next meeting.
Mr. Colantano stated that he sewer tax rate would
remain the same as last year. There will be no
increase in the sewer bills for 2007.
Mr. Lazorisak requested approval to work with Lou
Accetturo and Global
Environmental to do a smoke test to find the sewer
lateral going to the Oxwall Building. Mr. Accetturo
will ask Mr. Hissim if he knows how the sewer lines
run downtown.
The 2007 will be introduced at the Township Meeting
on April 18, 2007.
On motion by Mr. Lazorisak, seconded by Mr.
Accetturo and passed unanimously on roll call vote
to adjourn at 6:10 PM.
