Oxford Township Committee Meeting Synopsis for meeting held December 18, 2002
At regular meeting of the Oxford Township Committee, held on Wednesday, December 18, 2002, an ordinance was passed on second reading, following a public hearing, providing for the acquisition of property and appropriating and authorizing for issuance of the necessary bond for said acquisition. This is the first step in facilitating the township's action regarding the property in question. Announcement was made regarding the Township's upcoming rabies clinic for cats and dogs - date is January 18th, from 10AM to noon, and will be held at the new Township Garage, on Mt. Pisgah Avenue.
Extensive discussions were held regarding proposals for the expansion of the Popinko operations on East Quarry Road (B. 26, L. 87). At this point, the application for expansion to a Class "B" and "C" recycling center permit has been prepared and submitted to SWAC (Solid Waste Advisory Council of Warren County)... they, in turn have deemed the said application complete. The Oxford Township Committee, at this time is only being asked for an opinion. The progress will continue following an up-coming SWAC meeting, in January, 2003. The township engineer was authorized to meet with the applicants engineer, and report back to the township committee.
Further discussions concerning the bikeway were held, in which a number of items were raised - i.e. crosswalks, regulations, and posting of same, hours of use, and enforcement.
The annual re-organization meeting of the committee will be held Thursday, January 2, 2003, 7:30 PM. |
