I am slow to pick up on where to go on the net for things. When I found the site I signed right on and found a few items on the site. Now when I visit there is nothing. I have found everything on NJ.com forums. I rather like having our own local site and being able to communicate with other people from town to share thoughts and ideas. The nj.com forums get very nasty and people say some really bad things. was this a problem on this site as well when it had more users? I find it troubling that noone wants to share info and ideas on a small local site where we could probably brainstorm together instead of airing trash about our town/people on a major public site. Oxford has a bad enough rep and if everyone continues to post garbage about oxford on a highly visible site, then we will continue to have the bad rep. |

|

I have seen some fliers around town, and one that was hanging in the bank as of Friday, but not much else as far as advertising. I have heard that the webmaster/forum admin has gone to the town several time asking to be allowed to advertise the site and the forum, and been told every time that there was no money to pay for thing like a banner accross Wall Street, or a color insert in the tax bills. I for one would like to see this forum get used more, I think it would help to remove some of the BS that is posted on the forum at NJ.com, and it will allow the people of Oxford to communicate with each other as well as the people who run the town. |

I think if we get the address out more and have some interesting topics on here -this site will succeeed. Maybe put something at busy bee where they could pull off the address to bring home. |

I put fliers at the Busy Bee, and when I went back later that day, they were all in the trash can. I am open to suggestions. |

I think the committee did that already, but it wouldn't hurt to do it again. |

the pto is putting together a "Blue Book"--as well as a monthly newsletter--Many parents will utilize these resources as well--if you need info on getting into newsletter contact Kiki Frasca--her contact info is on PTO web site--you can also ask about getting on a page of the blue book--1/2 a page requires a $5 donation and a full page requires a $10 donation the donations are to help with printing costs--the blue book will serv as an information center to the pto and any other non-profit or child/community based programs. the pto will be running an add for the blue book in the riverbend soon as well. the only thing you have to do is make sure you set up your page/info the way you want it to ensure no errors |
