Oxford Police arrest two on drug charges

An Oxford Man and a man from Hackettstown were arrested on drug and alcohol charges on Friday night. Sgt. Kevin Racek stopped a car driven by Richard B. Murphy of Hackettstown for operating without headlights after dark. A passenger in Murphy's car, identified as William F. Werner of Oxford, had an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle and it's occupants produced under 50 grams of suspected marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia. Both men were charged with possession of CDS and possession of paraphernalia. Werner was charged with having a open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and Murphy was charged with operating a vehicle without headlights. Both men were release pending court.
