- Warren County ARTS was started
around 1995 as an "umbrella group" covering
- all forms of arts whether painting, photography,
poetry, sculpture, etc.
- There was very little for the
artist in Warren County prior to that time.
- Oxford Municipal Building has been extremely kind in
allowing us to have a
- professional gallery in their building.
- The 2nd Thursday of each month at
the Oxford Municipal Building we have a business
- meeting and an art demonstration by one of our members
of watercolor, oil painting,
- portrait painting, painting on china, wood carving or
other art subjects and
- sometimes an invited guest covering lace making, a
harpist, wool spinning and even
- a romance novelist writer.
- We have rotating art shows at the
Oxford Gallery. Sometimes a members show,
- sometimes an "open show" that others may enter
(and
sometimes we host a show
- by an invited group such as the Hillcrest Camera Club
and Pahaquarry Painting and
- Photography) This includes a reception for the show
usually on a Sunday afternoon
- from 2PM-4PM with refreshments, flowers, & music for
the public to come and view the
- works in a professional setting and hopefully purchase
some of the works.
